Do you supply free-range meat? Yes, we source and supply our very finest free-range steaks from a farm that is only 10 miles away from our head office in Exeter, in fact, we've even visited to see how they are farmed, so we can be sure we supplying you with only the very best. So you know you are getting meat that's been ethically produced and slaughtered, and you're doing your bit for the environment because we're cutting down on the food miles.

Where do your fish and shell fish come from? Are they ethically sourced? Yes, we source our fish products from only the most reputable suppliers. All our fish is fully traceable and is MSC certified. We also ensure that the majority of our fish is wild-caught from sustainable stocks.

Why is your food frozen rather than chilled? With the innovation of air-blast freezing our food is frozen in minutes rather than hours. This means that all the true flavours of the food are retained and the texture is perfect, so you get food that tastes, looks and smells home-prepared. Freezing also means that we do not need artificial additives or preservatives in our food, so you can be assured that you are getting a wholesome product that is healthier for you and your family. Supermarket chilled meals sit for days on the shelf, deteriorating in taste and quality and are often high in all sorts of nasty additives so that they can 'keep' for longer. Our fish is 'frozen at sea', which means that it couldn't be fresher - so called 'fresh' fish has often spent days packed in ice, or has sometimes been previously frozen.

Where are your ingredients and products sourced?
Is there a minimum order? No, there is not a minimum order requirement.
I need the food for Friday, when do I need to place my order? We need a minimum of two working days to prepare and deliver your order. Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays are not working days. For example; if you would like your order delivered on Friday, you need to order it before 3pm on the Wednesday.
How will I know how to prepare the food? Full cooking instructions and ingredients are provided with every product, additionally full instructions for each product are also provided on the website. If you are still unsure you can contact us for help or call 0845 678 9510.
Can I order by telephone? You certainly can! Call 0800 197 9510.
Do you have gluten-free products? Yes, see our list here.
Do you have products suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans? Yes, we have an extensive Vegetarian Menu and guidance on our products suitable for Vegans.
Do you have any products that are guaranteed nut-free? Most of our products do not contain nuts, but we cannot guarantee that they do not contain traces of nuts as they may be prepared in an environment where nuts are used in other products. Any products that contain nuts have this indicated in their product details in the on-line catalogue.
What if there is something I'm not happy about?

How is the food frozen? The food is Air-Blast Frozen. This is when food is frozen in minutes by being blasted with super cooled air. It is more expensive than conventional water freezing and is not used regularly for retail products. The speed of freezing means that the taste and texture of the food is retained and the freezer life is greatly extended. It also means that the products contain fewer artificial additives and preservatives.
How can I Recycle & Reuse the polystyrene packaging (EPS) used to deliver my order? We can re-use/recycle the packaging and will supply an address label with your order. You can use this address label to post the box back to us (carefully sealed in a dustbin liner) and we will refund the cost of the postage to your credit card when we receive the box back. You can reuse the box yourself in a variety of ways: 1) Either as an insulated cool box – simply use gel ice packs and seal the lid and your food will stay cool and/or frozen for 2 – 3 hours. How does the packaging you use impact on the environment? Used polystyrene has no impact on the environment even in landfill sites or in incinerators, nor does it contain substances that could pollute the air or soil. Crucially, the manufacture of EPS solutions does not release hydrosoluable substances that could contaminate ground water supplies either.
Does the packaging you use release CFCs &/or HCFCs? EPS manufacturing is free of CFCs and HCFC that may damage the ozone layer.
